HLAF holds Paralegal Training for interns, discusses introduction to law

PASIG CITY, Philippines - HLAF, in partnership with the Clinical Legal Education (CLED) students from Ateneo Law School, conducted a three-day Paralegal Training for HLAF Social Work and Development Communication interns last May 2, 9-10.


As aimed, it gave basic and practical knowledge about case handling procedures for the interns to work in hand with their clients in different jails as part of their internship at HLAF. Also, the training was facilitated in order for the interns to experience the training given to HLAF Paralegal Aides.


"I have learned of becoming extra sensitive and considerate in handling cases of our clients because they have unbearable circumstances (than us). We should also be careful in giving promises to our clients for them not become so hopeful with their cases.” shared by HLAF Social Work intern, Ma. Genella P. Flores.



Paralegal Ethics, Introduction to Law and Criminal Procedures were discussed by HLAF Paralegal Officer, Mr. Juanito Vinluan, RSW, LL.B., HLAF Assistant Paralegal Officer, Mr. Alfredo Alaras, and interns from Ateneo Law School, Mr. Ivan Darwin Zamora, Mr. Patrick Arcellana and Ms. Marisse Aldeza.
