HLAF taps four cities for a FRED Management Committee

Pansol, Laguna - The Humanitarian Legal Assistance Foundation, Inc. (HLAF) gathered stakeholders from Quezon City, Malabon, Caloocan and Valenzuela to attend the training workshop for FRED Mangement Committee this May 23-24 at Pansol, Laguna. The stakeholders are from Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO), Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) and Focused Reintegration of Ex-Detainees (FRED) beneficiaries. 

For the training workshop, the participants are expecting to come up with a proposed policy on the reintegration of ex-detainees, to know the linkages of government and non-government sectors, to establish monitoring system, to be able to provide skills training to persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), to know more about the related programs and agencies involved and to enlighten every participant what they can help to the client per office. 

HLAF concludes the two-day training workshop of the FRED Management Committee where participants from Malabon, Valenzuela, Caloocan and Quezon City gathered to discuss the creation of a Technical Working Committee per city regarding the referral of ex-detainees from BJMP to CSWDO down to the barangays.
